The American book Man and Sea by the GoodPlanet Foundation has been named 2013 photo book of the year, in the environment category, by American Photo magazine. This nomination comes as a reward for the work of the two photographers Yann Arthus-Bertrand and Brian Skerry, who shared a joint objective in their effort to depict the marine universe. One views the sea from the sky, while the other observes from beneath the surface, together producing a wonderful portrait, an ode to our oceans.
GoodPlanet is delighted that this work, designed to raise awareness of the beauty and vulnerability of the oceans, supported by OMEGA, an Ocean programme partner, has been showcased by this award. Since its publication in France last year, “Man and Sea”has also been published in the USA, the UK, Germany, Spain and the Netherlands. A Chinese translation is currently underway.
