Yesterday, Tuesday March 11, the “Planet Ocean” exhibition was opened in Manila, the capital of the Philippines.
“Planet Ocean” invites you to explore the beauty and mystery of the world’s oceans through 73 photographs. The aerial images by Yann Arthus-Bertrand, together with the undersea photographs by the American photographer Brian Skerry, highlight the crucial role played by the oceans in the balance of ecosystems – and how important it is to preserve them. This is the most extensive photographic exhibition ever hosted in the Philippines, a country which is so dependent on the ocean, its benefits and its whims.
In 2013, sponsored by Omega, the exhibition toured a number of museums and aquariums in Europe. It is currently on show for one month in one of the main shopping esplanades in Manila, one which has several times won awards for its energy-saving buildings, its greenbelt where native plant species have been preserved, and for the effectiveness of its public transport network.
